Microsoft has finally sold every Windows 10 Mobile device

Alas, Microsoft has finally sold all of its Windows 10 Mobile devices. Microsoft released its last self-designed Lumia phone some time ago. Over the last year or so, they had only third party devices in their Microsoft Store. Mostly this was limited to the Alcatel Idol 4S and the HP Elite x3. the last few months have seen both of these phones go on sale including the HP dock bundle. In the last several days, some lucky (or unlucky?) customers purchased the last of the company’s hardware stock and they are now sold out. Of course you can still purchase these phones on auction sites, Amazon and other retailers. Coincidentally, Wileyfox is once again selling its modest-priced Pro device just as the Microsoft Store sold out. Most likely the next time you see a mobile device carrying Windows on Microsoft’s store page will be Andromeda.

For those who love Microsoft…

but just can not justify buying a phone running a dead OS, Microsoft’s site still sells phones. They are just Samsung devices and they run Android. However, don’t knock it till you try it. These devices come preloaded with a suite of Microsoft software and the company has spent a great deal of time optimizing these Android apps. You can easily get by on Android in the Microsoft ecosystem, at least until Andromeda.
