Motorola has just launched the Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play in India. Both of these phones were originally announced back in April in South America, and they have just arrived in India. These two phones sport a rather similar design, though the Moto G6 Play sports a single camera on the back, and its scanner is not located below the display, as is the case with the Moto G6’s fingerprint scanner.
The Motorola Moto G6 is made out of metal and glass, and it comes with water-repellent coating. The device features a 5.7-inch fullHD+ (2160 x 1080) display with a 2.5D curved glass, and it also comes with 3GB / 4GB of RAM and 32GB / 64GB of expandable storage. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 450 64-bit octa-core processor, while Android 8.0 Oreo comes pre-installed on the phone. 12 and 5-megapixel cameras are included on the back of the phone, while a single 16-megapixel camera sits on the front side of the device. A 3,000mAh battery is included in this package as well, while a 3.5mm headphone jack is also a part of the Moto G6 package. The Moto G6 sports two SIM card slots, and Dolby Audio support, while the phone measures 153.8 x 72.3 x 8.3mm, and weighs 167 grams.
The Moto G6 Play, on the other hand, also comes with water-repellent nano-coating, and it features a 5.7-inch display, but this is an HD+ (1440 x 720) panel we’re looking at. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 64-bit octa-core SoC fuels the phone, while the device comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. Android 8.0 Oreo comes pre-installed on the Moto G6 Play, while you’ll find a 13-megapixel camera on the back of this phone. An 8-megapixel camera sits on the front side of the device, while a 4,000mAh battery is included in the package as well. This phone also offers a 3.5mm headphone jack, and it also comes with Dolby Audio support, much like the Moto G6. The Moto G6 Play measures 154.4 x 72.2 x 9mm, while it weighs 175 grams.
The Moto G6 comes in Deep Indigo, Black, Oyster Blush and Silver color variants in India, and its 3GB RAM variant is priced at Rs. 13,999 ($209). The price point for the 4GB RAM Moto G6 is still unknown, but both variants will be available exclusively via Amazon India starting at midnight. The Moto G6 Play comes in Indigo Black and Fine Gold color variants, while it will be available exclusively via Flipkart for Rs. 11,999 ($179). The device will go on sale at the same time as the Moto G6, at midnight later today.
