Costco drops food court favorite for healthier menu item

Say it ain’t so!

Costco is nixing the polish dog off its food court menu, according to the Seattle Times.

An acai bowl including strawberries, blueberries, granola, and frozen acai, will take its place.

According to WTTV, the $4.99 bowls have quietly been rolling out in some Costco warehouses nationwide.

Some locations have even dropped the “Very Berry Sundae” to accommodate the acai bowls, according to The Tribune.

Craig Jelinek, Costco’s chief executive, said healthier menu options are next in store.

In addition to the acai bowl, there may even be an organic burger and a plant-based protein salad.

Fans of the famous hot dog and soda combo (still for just $1.50) don’t need to worry — the pairing will still be offered to hungry customers.

The $1.50 hot dog combo is almost as old as Costco!

A hot dog stand was installed at the original downtown Seattle store nearly two years after the first store first opened in 1983, and the price hasn’t been changed since.
