Fujifilm just announced the new Instax Mini LiPlay (pronounced “lee-play”), a hybrid camera that aims to take instant photography to the next level with a set of never-before-seen features.
The Instax Mini LiPlay is the smallest and lightest Instax camera ever made, but it contains the most features of any Instax camera.
On the back of the camera is a 2.7-inch color LCD screen that allows users to view and select their photos for printing as Instax Mini instant photos.
The Instax Mini LiPlay introduces sound recording to the world of Instax. Users can capture up to 10 seconds of audio with any photo. This audio can then be converted into a QR code and printed into the corner of the Instax Mini photo.
Want to hear the audio on a print? Simply scan that QR code with a smartphone to decode and listen to it.
Using the easy-to-use interface in the camera or the companion smartphone app, users can add six different fun filters and 30 different frames to their prints.
If you’d ever like to turn a photo on our smartphone into an Instax print, the LiPlay also doubles as a printer. Users can connect to the camera via Bluetooth and use the “Direct Print” feature to print any photo on the phone.
And since the camera has wireless connectivity, the Instax Mini LiPlay app can be used as a remote shutter release with live view, allowing you to easily shoot group photos with you in them.
Other features of the camera include a rechargeable lithium ion battery (100 prints per charge), 3 physical shortcut buttons, a print time of just 12 seconds, and a minimum focusing distance of 3.94 inches (10cm).
The Instax Mini LiPlay will be available starting on June 14th in three colors (Stone White, Elegant Black, and Blush Gold) with a price tag of $160.
