Xiaomi has finally upgraded the global version of the Mi Mix 2 to MIUI 12, months after it announced its latest OS. The inaugural MIUI 12 update for the global variant comes two and a half months after Xiaomi began rolling out the same update to the Chinese version.
While MIUI 12 may well be welcomed by Mi Mix 2 owners, the presence of ‘P’ in the build number, V12.0.1.0.PDEMIXM, will not. This means that Xiaomi has based the update on Android 9.0 Pie, rather than Android 10 or Android 11. The Mi Mix 2 began life on Android 7.1 Nougat, so Android 9.0 Pie could prove the end of the road for the device.
V12.0.1.0.PDEMIXM is rolling out as an over-the-air (OTA) upgrade and is a 787 MB download. If your device is yet to notify you that V12.0.1.0.PDEMIXM is ready to download then you could grab the recovery ROM, which is available to download from Xiaomi’s servers.
