Knowing the timing of United States Social Security payments is key for millions of Americans who live on this monthly income alone. For that reason, knowing if we are eligible to get the new one of the checks that will be arriving very soon is so important.
Likewise, we must also check to see if we can get the extra check that the Social Security Administration will send before the end of the month. This extra check is only for a specific group of Americans who have a different benefit. If we are eligible, we can get two checks in the remaining days of May.
Americans Eligible to Get Two Social Security Payments
Americans who are eligible to get two Social Security payments before the end of May must meet several requirements. Check these requirements well, since if you do not meet them you will not be able to have this payment in the next few weeks.
The requirements are:
- Have a Social Security check from after May 1997.
- Have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of any month.
- Have Supplemental Security Income accepted.
- Have Direct Deposit activated.
Only then will we have two new checks from Social Security before the end of May. The first of these checks will be the retirement check and will arrive on May 22nd and on May 31st will be when we will get the other check, pertaining to Supplemental Security Income.
How much will these Social Security checks be?
The maximum payment for each of these checks will be $4,873 in the case of the retirement payment and $943 in the case of Supplemental Security Income. But that doesn’t mean we always get the maximum amount in each payment.
All United States citizens can get a monthly payment of different amounts. Your retirement check may be $1,600 and your Supplemental Security Income check may be $350 per month. Each case is totally unique.
So now you know the days when you could get your new Social Security benefit in the month of May, before June 2024 arrives. As for the amount, every citizen is different, so check your past earnings to see what check you will get next.
