Although June is not yet over, for many retirees in the United States, the Social Security check will not appear in the checking account until July. Two of the benefit payments have already been sent out. Thus, we are in the middle of one month and another.
Thus, some retirees already have June Social Security available and are waiting to get July’s check. This payment will appear soon, but we still have a few weeks to wait. Be that as it may, the ideal thing to do in these cases is to mark on the calendar the day of the collection to avoid financial problems.
In addition, it should also be noted that the Social Security Administration will send up to 5 different checks during July, as opposed to 4 in June. Still, retirees can get a maximum of 2 checks out of these 5, so there is no extra payment really.
July 2024 Social Security Schedule
If we’re talking strictly regular terms, the July payments follow the regular month’s schedule. So, we get Supplemental Security Income (SSI) on the 1st and the rest of the retiree payments on the corresponding days.
To make it much clearer, these are the days of the July 2024 Social Security payment schedule:
- July 1st. Supplemental Security Income payment for all beneficiaries.
- July 3rd. Social Security payment for retirees prior to May 1997.
- July 10th. The Administration makes payments on this day to post-May 1997 retirees with birthdays between the 1st and 10th of any month.
- July 17th. The Administration pays on this day for retirees after May 1997 with birthdays between the 11th and 20th of any month.
- July 24th. The Administration pays on this day for retirees after May 1997 with birthdays between the 21st and 31st of any month.
Remember that the Social Security check you will get in July will be the same amount as it was in June of this same year. It is also good to keep in mind that the method of collection affects the day the money is available to us. If we are looking to have the payment as soon as possible, we should activate Direct Deposit.
